The Snowy Range Ski Area, 4 miles up the highway, features an even blend of green, blue and black slopes without the long lines associated with many ski resorts. Ski lessons and ski rentals are available. A great family ski resort awaits you!

Many of the same trails used for hiking in the Summer can be utilized for Cross Country Skiing and Snowshoeing adventures. Be aware that, on the website/map listed below, the highway is Closed in the Winter time from the Green Rock Parking Lot west over the mountain. On top of the listed trails online, you can just “freestyle” it and go wherever your heart desires within the National Forest!

Look no further than the majestic Snowy Range mountains for the ultimate hiking, mountain biking, and/or fishing getaway! Hiking/mountain biking trails, stream fishing, lake fishing, and much more are located only minutes from where you stand now. The majority of which is easily accessed with any vehicle in the summer, but a higher clearance vehicle can be necessary on some of the forest service roads.

*A few of our favorite hikes include Little Laramie, North Fork, Glacier Lakes, Lakes Trail, and Medicine Bow Peak. When the kids were tiny, utilizing the paved path between Lake Marie and Mirror Lake was great with a stroller!
